The climate of Hotan area belongs to warm temperate zone of extreme arid desert climate. The features is hot summer, cold winter, distinct seasons, large quantity of heat, great day-night temperature difference, long frost-free period, scarce precipitation, strong evaporation and  obviously climate vertical distribution.
