Festival of Confucius memorial ceremony by Global Chinese in Jianshui
On 28 September, 2005, the 2556 birthday of Confucius, UNESCO launched the first joint memorial ceremony of Confucius. At the same time, CCTV and Shandong Provincial government decided to hold a joint the celebration. Jianshui Confucious' temple was one of the five live broadcast scenes.
Bird’s Nest Festival
Bird’s Nest Festival is a special celebration in Honghe Prefecture. It holds on 8 August annually in Jianshui Swallow cave. At that day, local farmers will unarmed-climb to cave roof to collect the Bird’s Nest. The cave is more than 50 meters high and 450 meters long. Onlookers will be struck by the thrilling scene.
