Jianshui belongs to the subtropical plateau monsoon climate, characterized by distinct dry and wet season, rain and heat in a season and long summer but without cold winter. The annual average temperature is 18.7 ℃ .  In the coldest month (December), the average temperature of 12 ℃ with extreme minimum temperature of -3.1 ℃. In the hottest month (June) the average temperature is 23.2 ℃, with highest one temperature of 35.1 ℃. There is 324 days free of frost. The rainy season begins in the middle May every year with 128 days of average annual rainfall days and 783.1 mm of average annual rainfall . The annual average sunshine is of 2300.8 hours. The annual average relative humidity is of 72%.   Due to complex terrain and huge elevation difference, the weather around in low land is very different to high Mt. in Jianshui.
