Shanghai Activities

1. 13th Shanghai International Film Festival 2010.6.12-20
Originated in 1993, Shanghai International Film Festival is hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television and Shanghai Municipal Government; and organized by Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV and Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group. Upon successful organization of the first two editions, the festival was soon accredited by FIAPF as one of the competitive feature film festivals.

With successful 11 editions in the past 16 years and backed up by fast growing Chinese movies and a globalize film industry worldwide in general, Shanghai International Film Festival has consolidated on its own developing strategy, focusing on a clear and integral structure of the four major sections - Film Competitions, SIFF Mart, Film Forum and International Panorama.  

2. Shanghai International Arts Festival
The 11th Shanghai International Arts Festival (opened on 17th Oct 2009)
Original from 1998, the Shanghai International Arts Festival hold September annually.

3. Shanghai Tourism Festival (September)
Positioned as the people’s festival, taking the “Entering the happiness and pleasure “as subject, Shanghai Tourism Festival has progressed for 16 years successfully since 1990 when it first held.

Incorporating tourism products including sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, culture, sports, exposition, and food and shopping, the festival also presents more than a hundred activities showcasing the metropolitan outlook, culture and commerce of Shanghai.

Some of highlights are float pageant, carnival, Shanghai International firework festival, Image Ambassador competition, rose wedding ceremony , to name but a few.

4.Shanghai TV Festival (June)
Established in December 1986, Shanghai TV Festival is co-hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film & TV and the Shanghai Municipal Government, and organized by Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV and the Special Events Office under Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group. With its characteristics of internationalization, market-directing and specialization, STVF has become a comprehensively international TV Festival as one of the largest and most profound one in Asia.

The festival is held every June, with the 12th edition of festival held from June 17th to 21st.
