About a century ago, Shanghai was named "Never Sleep City" with nightlife so colorful. And now, despite a slump of several decades, it shows signs of reclaiming its reputation, with the return of its nightlife.

In Shanghai, various types of bars can be found on both its modern, bustling streets and its old, narrow lanes of Shikumen.
The best bars are around Maoming Road and nearby such as Park 97, a stylish bar in the heart of the French Concession and O´Malleys a friendly Irish joint.
